Here are the top 5 features of the new Apple Watch Series 6
Colors, design, straps
The new Apple Watch Series 6 brings with it no new design changes but does introduce new colors – Graphite, Space Gray, Silver, Gold, Blue and the inspiring Product Red version of it. The new Solo strap with no buckles or sizers is fantastic if you use your Watch to work out or swim except that the fit has to be perfect to your liking as it cannot be changed much.
Blood Oxygen monitor
A very welcome feature during these challenging times of Covid – the Apple Watch Series 6 features a new sensor that measures the blood oxygen levels in the background and on demand. There is a new app for this purpose.
Improvements with battery
The new S6 chip makes the battery drain smarter thereby prolonging the battery life. As per the specs, the battery lasts for about 18 hours or more with general use. Moreover, this battery life is not set in stone as it depends on what features are used with frequency.
New workouts and Fitness+ support
The Apple Watch Series 6 add new workouts and also adds in support for the new Apple Fitness+. Fitness+ is a new Apple service with many expert trainers which will be available via subscription although a purchase of the new Apple Watch does give you 3 months of it free. Fitness + is due to be available in late 2020 as per Apple and it allows the Apple Watch Series 6 to transmit metrics like heart, steps etc to your iPad, iPhone or even the Apple TV when you are working out using Fitness+. I will review Fitness+ soon after its release.
Sleep Tracking improvements and WatchOS7 integration
The Apple Watch Series 6 is built to seamlessly integrate with WatchOS7 with all its new features and apps like ECG, Heart , Sleep and more.
